Biography
Dennis Scott has been an ordained pastor for nearly twenty-eight years, serving in the calling described in Ephesians 4:11. He has also volunteered in prison ministry for eighteen years and counting, regularly teaching and encouraging men behind bars.
A retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, Dennis served his country for twenty-four years. His military service and subsequent work as a government contractor in information technology span forty years. Before retiring in September 2026, he served as an Information Systems Security Officer in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
In May 2016, Dennis fulfilled a goal he had held for more than thirty years by earning his bachelor's degree in cybersecurity from the University of Maryland University College.
Dennis published his first book, In All Your Getting, Get Understanding, in 2017, followed by Stop! Your Dreams Are Knocking in 2022. Both books are available on Amazon.
Dennis has been married to his wife, Janelle Scott, formerly Janelle Cain of New Jersey, for forty-two years. Their family includes three wonderful adult children—Cebronica, Jamye, and Jamal—as well as grandchildren, two sons-in-law, and a daughter-in-law.
A New Jersey native, Dennis makes his home in Maryland with his wife, Janelle.
